With preparations for the Village Show in full swing the show committee met last night to make final preparations.
One of our younger entrants in the show brought it to our attention that the closing speech marks were missing from the Best Handwriting classes (65 & 72).
Below is how it should appear and it has been corrected in the attached Show Schedule.
There was an old man with a beard,
Who said, “It is just as I feared!
Two owls and a hen,
Four larks and a wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!”
There will be a winner’s trophy/cup for the most points in every category and a trophy/cup for every class in the children’s classes in addition to the most points in each age group.
Looking forward to receiving lots of entry forms over the next week. Please submit entries by 6pm Thursday 7th August then bring them along from 8.30am on the 9th to display them. All entries need to be benched by 10am for judging to commence. The show will open at 2pm to reveal the winning entries. Presentation of trophies and raffle at approximately 3pm.
