Quickline Fibre Broadband Works Starting February 9th

Paul Lightfoot writes:

Following on from my last note we have been advised that Quickline’s next phase of work on installing fibre broadband to the village will commence on February 9th and is forecast to last until February 13th. It will involve excavating to install new underground ducting between just north of St Leonard’s and the Village Hall.

They have obtained permission from North Yorkshire Council to close that part of Toft’s Lane during this period, though I have checked with them and they have confirmed that any people living within the closure area will continue to have vehicular access to their properties. What they couldn’t confirm was whether or not other villagers trying to pass through the works would be allowed to do so- this will become clearer once the works commence.

The next phase of works will then take place between March 2nd and March 5th. This will involve the closure of the Welbury Crossing to Low Moor Road. The new broadband service will be made available later in the year. If anybody requires any further information Quickline’s contact number is 01482 247365.
